JOB RESPONSIBILITY – Construction Phase
Responsible for construction of all AC electrical works comprising of all LV, MV, HV, substation and transmission line electrical activities as below:
Planning & Scheduling of all LV, MV, HV, Substation and Transmission line electrical works
Planning and Erection of all electrical equipment’s
Construction of LA & Earthing system for the pant
Construction of transmission line
Construction of Utility substation and ESKOM switching substation for evacuation of power from the solar plant to ESKOM substation
Follow-up for all ESKOM approvals for grid connection and switching station construction.
Providing feedback to Design & Engg. team for improvement and optimization of future designs with new methodologies and updatings as per site changes.
Responsible for preparation of daily work schedule and assigning the jobs to all the subcontractors with function wise job distribution.
Responsible for Planning, Scheduling, Tracking, Providing the direction and support to the
EPC contractor, substation contractor and the Transmission line contractor for execution of work smoothly and timely.
Responsible for managing a team of Engineers for supervising the work and ensuring the successful deliverables of assigned targets in all AC electrical activities.
Responsible for giving work clearance to all electrical works for erection of Inverter stations, all equipment’s, their Termination and testing.
Responsible to Analyze and assess the risk factors involved during the execution of work and report the same to the site manager and project manager.
Responsible for tracking of materials from contractors and direct suppliers in line with scheduled timelines.
Responsible for quality workmanship from all the contractors.
Responsible to prepare a daily report on the work progress and plan for next day schedule.
Responsible to laision and coordinate with local utility company/ESKOM for getting the approvals and permits for power evacuation, synchronization and commissioning of the plant in coordination with the Project Manager
Responsible for getting all the project compliances, Grid compliances and permits for construction of project from the local authorities in coordination with the Project Manager
JOB RESPONSIBILITY – O&M Phase
Responsible and Accountable for 86.25 MW Plant Operation, Maintenance, Performance and Monitoring of plant for achieving the optimized and forecasted generation as per design with the following activities:
Coordination and managing the team of O&M Engineers of Operator on daily basis for preparation of O&M records and reports.
Record and Maintenance of documentation for Taking over of the plant from EPC company
Closure and sign-off with EPC company for all the punch points generated during construction for all the AC works and Power evacuation work in substation and Transmission line.
Constantly Monitor and Record the plant operation and performance to maintain 100% uptime of the plant.
Ensure the regular cleaning of all AC electrical switchgears, transformers within the utility plant, Utility substations and ESKOM switching station and transmission line as per maintenance schedule for achieving the 100% uptime of the equipment for forecasted generation and PR target.
Planning, Scheduling, Tracking all the electrical equipment and switchgear Maintenance activities on daily basis and ensuring all the regular and preventive maintenance are carried out as per schedule.
Maintaining the plant uptime as designed by ensuring minimal equipment break-down, restoring the equipment breakdown within shortest period in coordination with the OEMs/Contractors
Coordinating with all the OEMs/Suppliers/Contractors for warranty claims, Warranty services, Contract renewal (if any) and any annual maintenance required for the equipments.
Preparation of daily, monthly, Quarterly, Half yearly, Yearly Maintenance activities for the plant along with the O&M contractor.
Generate, Record and Analyze the DGR, Monthly, Quarterly and Yearly report for keeping the uptime of the plant with optimum performance.
Prepare Daily and Monthly reports and presentations.
Responsible for Monthly Joint meter reading in coordination with local distribution company/
ESKOM for submission of documents to all the concern department.
Responsible for all statutory compliances required for the project with renewal on time to time basis
Responsible for all equipment calibration on annual basis
Responsible to coordinate with all local stakeholders in the project for Invoicing, Compliances and
Responsible to meet all ED obligations and compliances for the project during operation phase.
Responsible to meet the Grid compliances for the project in coordination with the O&M contractor.

Profile & Eligible Criteria
Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical & Electronics/Electronics & Communication/Power Electronics Engg.
Experience: 5-6 years’ Experience in Execution or Operation and Maintenance of Large Scale MW Solar PV Projects/Conventional Power plants/Electrical/EHV/Transmission & Distribution Projects. Preference will be given for candidates who have experience in construction of solar PV power plant projects.
Should have good oral & written communication skills in English and Spanish with sound knowledge on preparation of project reports, schedules, site Test reports, QA plans, FAT documentation, Performance test & procedures and HOTO (Handing Over and Taking Over) documents.
Should have strong leadership skills, good exposure & responsibility to lead a team of site engineers, technicians, contractors and sub-contractors.
Should have good computer skills with well literate in MS Office, AutoCAD & Project tools like MS Project.
Should have good working knowledge in understanding the electrical, mechanical and civil drawings
Should have good hands-on experience with proven track record in implementing and construction of any Solar/Utility power plant projects or captive power projects involving Solar Farm/EHV systems/Thermal Power plants, etc.,
Should have a good knowledge in preparation of User Manual, O&M Manual for projects and other Engineering documentation for post & pre-Execution phase.
Should have good exposure on Testing of Electrical equipment’s like LV & MV switchgears, Solar Inverters, etc., with sound knowledge on usage of testing tools & equipment’s installed at site.
Should have sound knowledge of generation data analysis with monitoring of data and mitigate the problems for any underperformance of the generation plant.
Should have Liasioning abilities with local authorities like Grid Utility Supplier, Electrical Inspectorate, Nodal agency, local bodies etc.,
Should have good exposure to Health & Safety work practices in execution of the project and implementing the same at the site with proper instructions to all the contractors and sub-contractors.
Should be able to handle the geographically spread out project.
Should have sound knowledge on local compliance required for the project both during construction and O&M phase.
Preference will be given to candidate who has good contacts and network with the local government bodies, Utility companies, ESKOM, Local Municipalities, Nodal agencies, Department of Energy, etc.
